Super Bowl Beer Punch

Super Bowl Beer PunchWith Super Bowl coming up, I’ve been planning a few recipes (like these baked turkey meatballs) to serve on game day. Most folks will end up pouring plain old beer that day, but why not get a little creative and make a beer punch. I think it’s the perfect drink for your football bash. Your guests will be thrilled!

The recipe is loosely based on the traditional German drink Radler, a simple mix of Sprite and lager beer. My Super Bowl beer punch is a little more fancy than that, adding some fresh squeezed lemon, lime and orange juice, along with simple syrup and a few squirts of Angostura bitters.

Mix together juices, sugar and blueberries in your punch container, then pour lemon-lime soda and beer.

Super Bowl Beer Punch Recipe

  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or agave syrup
  • a few dashes of angostura bitters
  • 1 can lemon-lime soda
  • 2 bottles beer (like a flavorful lager or pale ale)
  • blueberries, for decoration (muddled for more flavor, optional)

Place citrus juices, sugar, angostura bitters and blueberries into your punch container and mix well to dissolve sugar and incorporate flavors.

Pour in lemon-lime soda and beer. Stir, then pour into serving glasses.
