I’ve never cooked much with puff pastry until recently. My vegetable pot pies really won me over. Since they were such a success, I’ve been experimenting with store-bought puff pastry more and decided to make a quick sweet and savory snack.
I didn’t specify amounts in my two recipes and just sprinkled the puff pastry strips with different herbs and spices. For the sweet puff pastry sticks I used cocoa, cinnamon and vanilla sugar which was perfect for an afternoon coffee break. For the savory, I used grated emmentaler cheese leftover from my recent spaetzle recipe. These pastry sticks are so quick and easy to make, great for entertaining a crowd if you’re short on time.
Recipe below…
Slice puff pastry into strips and sprinkle with sweet or savory seasonings. Bake for about 15 minutes.
Serve the pastry sticks with your favorite condiments.

For sweet pastry sticks: Place strips on baking sheet and brush with coconut oil then sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and cocoa powder. Bake for about 10-15 minutes until puffed and golden. Serve with apple sauce, ice cream or whipped cream.
