Kale Green Smoothie with Mixed Berries and Bananas

[This post is part of my Green Smoothie series]

Kale is an excellent addition to green smoothies because it’s packed with vitamins and nutrients like beta carotene, vitamin C and fiber. The flavor of kale in green smoothies is strong, so I suggest using less kale in the beginning and then adding more when it’s palatable to your taste.

I added a mixture of frozen dark berries and bananas to tone down the kale flavor. This leaves a refreshing, tart smoothie.  Once blended, you won’t even know kale is in the smoothie!

Recipe below…

Kale Green Smoothie Recipe

4-6 kale leaves
2 ripe bananas
2 dates, chopped
1 cup frozen berry mix (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries)
1 1/2 cups water

In a blender, combine banana, dates, kale, frozen berries and water. Blend on the highest speed until smooth and creamy.

Total Time: 5 minutes

Yield: 3-4 cups
